Our heart muscles become strong when they are made to contract and release repeatedly at a fast pace. This fast-paced repetitive contracting and releasing happen when we exercise. Exercising keeps your heart beating nicely. Aside from that, it also burns away any accumulated fat which could be deposited in your arteries which could lead to heart attacks. Keep those pipelines clean by exercising!

Here are the cardiovascular activities that you could do to keep your heart healthy:

  • Jogging
  • Running
  • Cycling
  • Swimming
  • Aerobics/Zumba/kickboxing
  • Active sports (ball sports)

Be mindful of what you are eating.

Eat heart-healthy foods. Make these a part of your every meal to stay healthy.

  • Pure chocolates (the dark ones) are one of the best sources of antioxidants and can improve your health and lower the risk of heart disease

  • Spinach has lutein, folate, potassium, and fiber which can give your heart a boost

Avoid unhealthy foods.

Remove the tempting artery-clogging fried foods, oily foods, processed foods, and artificial sugars. Not much explanation needed. These foods are just tasty but can clog your arteries, making your heart unhealthy.


Be mindful of what you are drinking.

Have a cup of coffee or green tea or even a glass of red wine. These all have anti-aging properties and can help with your blood circulation.


Meditate.

Meditating can reduce stress levels and can make the heart pump normally.


Stay positive.

Do any enjoyable activity every day, be it a crossword puzzle, a call with your best friend, a book that you love reading, or watching a comedy show. Just do anything that is happy and positive for you. Plan to make it a daily routine and stick to it. In this way, you could lower stress levels caused by disarray.


Clean your living space.

Another thing is cleaning!  Yes, it’s good for the heart too. Aside from the exercise you get from dusting, sweeping, etc., it also lessens your stress levels as you have a much neater environment to live on.


Have annual checkups.

An annual health checkup wouldn’t hurt, get one. There is no better person who understands our health than the people who studied our health for several years of their lives.


Disconnect for a while.

Try to disconnect from the digital world and just connect with yourself. Just relax your body and mind for a few minutes every day and just spend time with yourself. You deserve a break from the stress we see on the internet.
